Manitou Art Center, Manitou Springs, CO - multiple sessions 2021 - present
In this introduction to screen printing you will learn how to take your design or drawing from an idea to a reproducible print. Participants will learn to use the exposure unit, washout station, t-shirt press, and flash unit in this workshop. We will cover the 'House Rules' for the screen print lab and go over procedures for using the space and tools effectively in order to complete projects.
In this second-tier screen printing workshop, you will learn how to effectively use water based inks for paper and textile projects, and the pros and cons for using water-based ink over plastisol ink. Participants will review how to use the exposure unit, washout station, and t-shirt press in this workshop, as well as techniques for table top and oversize printing. Participants will practice with designs provided by the instructor, then focus on developing and test printing their own designs using water-based inks.

School of the Art Institute of Chicago, Homan Square Campus - Summer 2019
In this three-part workshop series, participants gain a new skill in graphic design and marketing that can be used for community building or entrepreneurial projects. In summer of 2019, members of the North Lawndale Teen Art Council learned the foundational text and layout tools for Adobe Illustrator to create a promotional flyer for their upcoming community art event, developed a logo with text and image, and learned to screen print their logo onto t-shirts. Students printed 60 t-shirts given to community members at a neighborhood art opening and outdoor festival.
